At the beginning of the game, you are given a choice of a region or a type for starters. This is especially useful for monotype runs or for getting a Pokémon earlier in the run. All starters have a three stage line (well, most of them), including new evolutions. This page shows all the possible choices for starters.

♠ Mime Jr. is the only starter that is a two stage if evolved into Kantonian Mr. Mime. However, it fits the three stage requirement for starters when evolving to Galarian Mr. Mime.
