At the beginning of the game, you are given a choice of a region or a type for starters. This is especially useful for monotype runs or for getting a Pokémon earlier in the run. All starters have a three stage line (well, most of them), including new evolutions. This page shows all the possible choices for starters. For the traditional starters, one random one can be obtained on Route 102, the rest can be bought in shops after defeating Flannery.

♠ Mime Jr. is the only starter that is a two stage if evolved into Kantonian Mr. Mime. However, it fits the three stage requirement for starters when evolving to Galarian Mr. Mime.
